The Plants Are Calling -  Year-long Community Herbalism Apprenticeship in Southeast Michigan

Taking our well-being into our own hands is one of the most powerful, liberating, awesome, and cost-effective steps we can take. The Plants are Calling is an intimate community herbalism apprenticeship that centers principles of liberation, equitable distribution of access to care, and reverence for the earth. It is a bioregional, hands-on experience of medicine making and community building that takes place largely in person in Ann Arbor MI. Spaces are very limited, and we are excited to answer any questions you may have. Applications are closed for 2024 - get on a waitlist for next year here.

The Community Food Forest at Leslie Park

The Community Food Forest at Leslie Park is a public food forest community resilience brought forth by a diverse coalition of Ann Arbor residents from all across the city. True Earth is very proud and excited to sponsor this project and work with such great people. The city-wide coalition brings together a wide range of ages, races, cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic circumstances, genders, and skillsets to support environmental healing and strengthen community resilience. This collaborative team puts respect for nature’s intelligence and a commitment to equitable access to care at the core of our efforts. All community members are welcome to participate in the work and education of the project or to simply enjoy the fruits, flowers, vegetables, and herbs grown on-site. Please come out and visit us, and feel free to harvest any time. Learn more here.

How to Make a Flower Essence

Flower Essences are easy to use, have no adverse side effects, and no contraindications. They are resonant medicines, meaning that (like homeopathy) they work with vibration to rebalance emotions and restore vitality to the body. This resource is intended to support those of you who want to experience the joy and satisfaction of making your medicines, which also happily draws you into a closer relationship with the earth (and saves you money).

Threshold Blessings

Threshold blessings and simmer pots and sacred baths - oh my! Here are a few very common aromatic plants that you can find in many places (including the grocery store if need be) to support you in honoring nature’s (and your body’s) rhythms of rest and renewal during wintertime. As these particular potions are for external use, you can use them individually or in any combination. The sky is the limit. We’ll share info about the plants first, and then offer instructions on how to make the various preparations.
